Introduction to the evening news 11-08-2012
“Ali Mamlouk” is among the names that no one has ever dared to pronounce, so they are referred to by their titles or their ranks. However, Judge Sami Sader dared, he named General Ali Mamlouk and charged him with preparing explosives to assassinate religious and political figures.

The Lebanese deputy commissioner of the Military Tribunal, Judge Sami Sader stated the name of Ali Mamlouk along with former Minister Michel Samaha and another Syrian Army General.

What comes next? Judge Sader referred the charge to the Military Investigative Judge Riyadh Abou Ghida who issued an adversarial arrest warrant against Samaha, but what about General Mamalouk and the other general?

What are the repercussions of the case on the relations between Syria and Lebanon? The developments are open to all possibilities as Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour gave a brief and vague statement which could be explained in many ways. “There are no diplomatic steps so far, until the judiciary gives its final word”, Mansour said.

Hours before charging Ali Mamlouk, General Ashraf Rifi and General Wissam Hassan visited Beiteddine and Moukhtara. President Sleiman praised the detection of the explosives, while Rifi praised the efficiency of the Information Branch.

After nearly one month on the appointment of General Ali Mamlouk as head of Syria's National Security Office, he fell in the hands of Lebanese security in absentia and then was referred to the Lebanese Judiciary.

In a final note: General Mamlouk directly follows President Assad, and Samaha is directly linked to President Assad.

Before revealing the details, in information made available to LBCI, it was reported that the person that Samaha charged with implementing the explosions in the North have been working in the security and intelligence field since 1983, and he is known by several fake names. He is also the head of the security staff of a minister in the current cabinet.
