The undisclosed fate of the Sudanese refugees held behind bars

Following the arrest of 13 Sudanese nationals at the General Security prison 10 days ago, some of their relatives rallied on Monday outside the U.N High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) demanding to know the fate of the prisoners.

At a time when the Sudanese nationals told LBCI that no one is telling them the truth, they revealed that the condition for the release of the prisoners is that they sign a pledge not to come back to the Commissioner unless it contacts them.

It is noteworthy that the Sudanese nationals were arrested during a sit-in held outside the UNHCR siege in protest of the procrastination in providing the necessary papers for them to leave Lebanon.
