Sources told LBCI that Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil had decided to cancel his visit to Kfarmatta following the tension that erupted in the region, noting that Minister Saleh al-Gharib had joined Bassil in Chemlan where they agreed to cancel the visit and when al-Gharib left the town, his convoy got shot at.
In the same context, al-Gharib had told NNA that gunmen opened fire at his convoy, while he was part of it, which resulted in the injury of three of his bodyguards; one of them is in critical condition.
"We were on our way in the area of Qabr Chamoun and were surprised by a score of bullets," said al-Gharib.
