MP Samer Saade speaks out against Bassil

MP Samer Saade explained Sunday that he was ambushed by Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) supporters Saturday on a land he owned in Faraya after he had refused to install an electricity pole belonging to Electricity Du Liban, without prior permission, to light a cross on the top of Faraya’s mountain.

Saade said, during a press conference in his residence, that “I wish that Energy Minister Gebran Bassil had recalled the martyrs that were killed in the mountain while defending Lebanon and the Christian cause.”

Saade pointed out that “Faraya’s cross, which Bassil is claiming to have installed and lit up, was set alight in 1994 through the efforts of late Minister Elias Hobeika.”
