Lebanese hostages in Syria saga continues

The issue of the 11 Lebanese detainees in Syria continues as their families eagerly await any news on their loved ones. LBCI has been documenting the atmosphere of the families and relatives in Beirut’s Southern Suburbs overnight and throughout the day. High tensions flooded the streets of Beirut last night manifesting in the blocking of the Beirut International road with burning tires and angry citizens who called on the government for answers on the fate of the kidnapped in light of reports on their death.             

On Thursday, member of the media office of mastermind Abu Ibrahim Mohammad Nour told LBCI that the bodies of four Lebanese hostages were recovered, while the 7 others are in good health with Abu Ibrahim in a safe place.  

For his part, Syrian MP Mohammad Shalash reiterated his empathy to the families while checking in on recently abducted Syrian nationals in Lebanon. Those abductions are being conducted by the Mokdad family and others  in retaliation to the detention of their "son" Hassan Mokdad in Syria.      

In this regard, the Dialogue committee said it will form a team to follow up on the issue of the Lebanese hostages in Syria.
