Introduction to the evening news 27-08-2012
Most of today’s news headlines qualify as “unsurprising persistent and ongoing events”. The Lebanese abductees’ case has been closed after the release of one of them while efforts are ongoing between the Ministry of Interior and the house of Major General Abbas Ibrahim.

As for Tripoli, it is recovering at a time when the firm truce is likely to replace the fragile truce.

However, the event that qualifies as “surprising” was the appearance of a Lebanese national who spent 27 years in Syrian prisons before returning to his family.

Y.Ch. did not want us to reveal his full name for fear of being abducted or harmed once again. His case remained in the shadow for all these years probably because his family does not have a military wing or the capacity to kidnap people; they simply prayed for God who heeded their prayers 27 years later.
