Killers of Father Elie Makdessi arrested

The Lebanese Army Command - Orientation Directorate announced that the Directorate of Intelligence was able to find and arrest the murderers of Father Elie Makdessi.                      
They were identified as Syrian Anwar Hassan al-Rabih and his accomplice Mohammed Mustafa al-Kotait.               

In the details the assailants lured Makdessi to the locality of Ain Anoub where they robbed and then strangled him to death. The body was then placed in the trunk of the victims vehicle, where both men drove to Nehmeh and disposed of the corpse.                 

The following day they sold the victims mobile phone in Mount Lebanon.                          

The investigations revealed that those arrested bore two false ID’s.  Al-Kotait also confessed to the murder of Luciano Seranosian on the 13/9/2012 with the aim of theft as well.

The 50-year-old monk, whose death was caused by asphyxiation, had been recently appointed as head of the department of archives at the Secretariat of the Lebanese Maronite Order in Kaslik. For further details on the story please click here
