“Secure your way” a road safety campaign raised by YASA and TOUCH

Sending text messages while driving has become a form of distraction for drivers in a country where the first reason for the death of people between the age of 4 and 30 is traffic accidents.

Studies proved that the largest portion of society affected by traffic accidents due to distraction ranges between 18 and 25 years.

Within this framework, the head of YASA association Ziad Akl declared to LBCI that for every 1000 accidents, one-third is caused due to distraction while driving.

Knowing that 920 persons were killed in traffic accidents and other 12,000 were wounded in the year 2011; YASA (Youth Association for Social Awareness) in collaboration with TOUCH raised a road safety campaign entitled “Secure your way” aiming at raising citizens’ awareness on the dangers of distraction while driving.
