Gharib calls on Mikati to apologize to secondary teachers
Chairman of the Student Union coordination Hanna Gharib called on Prime Minister Najib Mikati to apologize from secondary teachers “for attempting to compensate teachers with a mere LBP 5,000”.

“That was an outright insult to those teachers,” Gharib stressed.

“The passing of the ranks and series scale is as much a moral issue as it is humanitarian and was only done after enough pressure was exerted,” Gharib added.
In an interview with LBCI on Friday, Gharib stressed that any attempts to muffle the cause will be met by the union, adding that the battle has now been moved to parliament.

The agreement was reached in coordination with the body and the ministerial committee and did not mention articles pertaining to installments, fragmentation or reductions in the payments, Gharib explained.
