Zahra to LBC: Aoun’s bloc didn’t fool anyone

Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra told Nharkom Said TV show that the electricity formula put forth by Speaker Nabih Berri was not hindered by the cabinet, voicing his surprise that the electricity bill was drafted without addressing the issue of oversight.

“The main reason Members of Parliament impeded the adoption of the electricity draft law is the lack of oversight”, Zahra said.

Zahra stressed that attempts to portray the Change and Reform bloc as the only party looking after the people’s wellbeing, have failed miserably.

“Had Energy Minister Jibran Bassil included the cabinet’s decisions in the electricity draft, the Parliament would have adopted the draft during the first session held for the joint parliamentary committees”, Zahra said.

Zahra added that Members of Parliament will vote in favor of Berri’s formula during Thursday’s session.
