Sleiman meets with French Minister, tackles bilateral relations
Lebanese President Michel Sleiman deplored Thursday the American film against Islam as well as the counteraction made on this film. He also followed up with the first Lebanese Lady, Wafaa Sleiman, the preparations made at Baabda Palace for Pope Benedict XVI's visit to said palace on Saturday.

Sleiman received today at his palace Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mar Ignatius Zakka I Iwass and reviewed with him recent developments.

"The film contradicts the public freedom principle and the values of American people," said Sleiman.

Sleiman received as well the French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian along with a delegation, and they discussed the bilateral relations and the ongoing cooperation on all levels, mainly in the military field.

On the other hand, President Sleiman sent a letter to US president Barak Obama, offering his condolences for the death of the US ambassador to Libya and three of the embassy’s employees, denouncing “this criminal act no matter the causes leading to it”.
