Gemayel: Nasrallah's call for demonstrations has ulterior motives
In a press conference, Kataeb Party Chief Amine Gemayel mentioned that the Pope's message should not be restricted to the areas he visited; but instead should "reverberate across Lebanon."

Gemayel said that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's speech on Sunday evening aims at breaking the tranquility created by the Pope's visit pointing out that in the current situation, "demonstrations are intolerable."

"Who is able to assure that these demonstration will remain peaceful?" Gemayel asked, stressing that he condemns all attacks on religions.

Gemayel saluted the Lebanese president who summoned the Iranian Ambassador Ghazanfar Roknabadi to explain the presence of Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Lebanon.

"Apt clarifications are asked from Iran so that Lebanon can take appropriate measures," Gemayel added. "It's about time to stop violating Lebanese territory and acting at the expense of the country's national interest," he added.

As for the issue of Syrian shelling on the Lebanese territory, Gemayel considered the manner as unacceptable and called for taking necessary measures to put an end to these violations.

Regarding the electoral law, Gemayel said: "we want to achieve democracy in order to have fair representation for all Lebanese parties and confessions". He also considered that the Free Patriotic Movement has long derailed from the instructions of Bkerke.
