Geagea: I am concerned about new assassination attempts
Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea said that the Pope's visit to Lebanon highlighted hope that must be taken advantage of, pointing out that Christians are subject to a programmed campaign carried out by "Syria's allies in Lebanon to weaken their morale".

In a television interview Geagea mentioned that he did not doubt the Vatican's stance regarding the Arab Spring, stressing that he's in perfect harmony with this position, and emphasized that the meeting in Baabda with the Maronite Patriarch was peaceful revealing that there was a disagreement with the patriarch but relations are better now.

Geagea stated that the patriarch is highly committed to the Vatican's positions and his stance must not be doubted.

On the national dialogue sessions, Geagea said that "It seems that Hezbollah is not ready to participate this Thursday in the dialogue at Baabda.".

Moreover, Geagea expressed his discomfort regarding the presence of members of the Iranian Quds Legion and said that it's the state's responsibility to deal with this issue declaring that demonstrations against the anti-Islam film are random and out of context.

Geagea stated that the Secretary General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made of the anti-Islam film a partition issue and a bridge to other political matters, and said: "I adopt all the demands of Nasrallah regarding broadcasting the film, but not in the way he called for it."

Geagea considered that arresting those who kidnapped the Turkish and Syrian citizens is a positive step from the Lebanese army and expressed his concern of local security operations and new assassination attempts.
