The truth behind the Arsal clashes, revealed

Military sources revealed to LBCI that a patrol of 12 members of the Lebanese border second regiment faced on Sunday around 150 armed members from the Free Syrian Army in the region of Washil el-Korays inside sovereign Lebanese territory.

Clashes followed, before the Syrian forces fled.

Sources pointed out that a Syrian military chopper bombed Halim el-Qarra region located in the mountainous area of Arsal.

Within this framework, military sources expressed their concern that the mountainous region of Arsal becomes a military conflict area between the Free and Regime Syrian army forces due to the non-demarcation of the borders.
