Terro: Cabinet and parliament both winners in electricity plan

State Minister for Displaced People Alaaeddine Terro said Saturday that “all parties claiming to be winners in the electricity plan and that Energy Minister Jibran Bassil is the loser” are blatantly mistaken, adding that the efforts of the cabinet in its entirety combined with those of the parliament have led to a way out of the stalemate.

Terro underlined his respect to all the proposed formula for a new electoral law, adding that the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) rejects proportional representation.

Terro explained that “the PSP was the first party to call, years ago, for an electoral law based on proportional representation; however, the situation today is different than what it was in 1975”, adding that President Michel Sleiman along with the concerned politicians are deploying assiduous efforts in order to draft an electoral law that suits the majority of Lebanese.
