Geagea: FPM is the "determining factor" in the electoral law
LF Chief Samir Geagea held a televised press conference on Friday in which he tackled the controversial issue of the electoral law proposals.

According to Geagea, the smaller districts draft law MPs Georges Adwan, Sami Gemayel and Boutros Harb referred to the Parliamentary Secretariat on Thursday is "the most practical proposal that could ensure a just representation to all Lebanese parties."

Geagea criticized the Free Patriotic Movement's position, stressing that the "LF and its allies are looking for a just electoral law while the FPM is looking for ways to destroy the Future Movement and Walid Jumblatt."

"The FPM is the 'determining factor' in this issue and will have to choose between the smaller districts draft law and the electoral law endorsed by cabinet," he added.

Geagea also stressed that all Christian parties are against the 60's electoral law and urged the authorities to take all necessary measures to assure the participation of Lebanese expatriates in the upcoming elections.
