Pentagon email explores options to punish NATO members over Iran war: Sources to Reuters

A U.S. official told Reuters that an internal email within the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) outlines options for Washington to penalize members of NATO that it believes did not support U.S. operations in the war with Iran.

According to the official, the proposals include suspending Spain’s membership in the alliance and reviewing the U.S. position on United Kingdom's claims over the Falkland Islands.

The official added that one option mentioned in the email involves suspending “difficult” countries from holding key or prominent positions within NATO.
