Introduction to the evening news 06-10-2012

The week has ended with three main storms: two Lebanese, and one Syrian-Turkish storm.                   

The first Lebanese storm is of natural origins, and was represented by a second rainfall during this season accompanied by thunderstorms and hail which the size exceeded the normal size in some regions.                 

The second Lebanese storm is related to the Lebanese living conditions and is expected to take place next week. The Union Coordinating Committee set next Wednesday as a date for a strike, while PM Najib Mikati expressed his surprise towards the call for such strike, revealing that the cabinet drafted the pay scale law and will be referring it to the Parliament for discussion.                

This declaration would place the economic committees in a state of alert, since they have refused the pay scale for the absence of funding sources.                     

On the other hand, the third storm hit the Syrian-Turkish scene, as Turkish artillery fired into Syria for the fourth day in a row on Saturday, retaliating for mortar shells that landed in Turkish territory from the Syrian side.
