Sleiman: Lebanon is no place to protect any regime
Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, who is currently visiting Uruguay, said on Saturday to the Lebanese community that Lebanon has paid its dues to gain it freedom and democracy.

Sleiman added that he will not allow anyone to use Lebanon as a stage to send messages, stressing that Lebanon is no place to protect any regime or any state.

The president assured the Lebanese community in Uruguay that Lebanon is safe and that the changes occurring in Arab countries have their positive influence on the Lebanese state because it needs to be surrounded by democratic countries to be able to practice its own democracy.

Sleiman also praised the Lebanese triumph over Israel, emphasizing that the army managed to destroy terrorist organizations.

Sleiman concluded that Lebanon regained its place on the international map and accentuated that the upcoming parliamentary elections will take place on their scheduled time.
