Lebanese abductees in Syria to be released soon -Sources

The Ambassador of the World Organization for Human Rights, Ali Akil Khalil said on Tuesday that he contacted one of the 9 Lebanese detainees in Syria, Abbas Shouaib.

During the 4-minute phone call, Shouaib said that all the abductees are in good health, stressing that the negotiations might result in their release very soon.

A mediator named Abou Mohammad told Khalil that the negotiations Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri and MP Oqab Sakr are holding will be fruitful.

Abou Mohammad added that 4 of the Lebanese detainees will be released before the al- Adha holiday, while the 5 remaining hostages will be released on the day of the Eid.

The eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by Syrian insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 20th of May.

So far, only two have been released.
