Electoral discussions underway between joint and sub-committees

Deputy Speaker Farid Makari presided the joint parliamentary committee meeting on Thursday at the parliament’s headquarters.

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel, General Director of Political Affairs and Refugees General Elias Khoury, Director General of the Ministry of Justice Judge Omar Natour and Director General of the Department of Immigrants at the Foreign Affairs Ministry Haitham Jomaa represented the Lebanese cabinet.

At the end of the meeting, Makari said that the committee is set to reconvene next week, stressing that today's discussions were not fruitful.

In this context, the sub-committee will hold its second meeting at 1:00 pm today to continue discussions on the electoral law.
