Mass in remembrance of Ashrafieh blast victims

A mass was held at the St Joseph Church in Ashrafieh's Sagesse Street on Friday afternoon in remembrance of the victims who fell in the Ashrafieh blast one week ago, in the presence of a number of political figures.

This as a silent rally was held from Sassine Square to the site of the explosion along with a concert in remembrance of the victims.

The Lebanese First Lady Wafaa Sleiman toured a number of hospitals which received the injured of the Ashrafieh explosion including Rizk Hospital, Hotel Dieu and the Lebanese-Canadian Hospital. The First Lady checked up on them and listened to their problems, praising the efforts deployed by the physicians treating them. The First Lady met with 10-year-old girl Jennifer Chedid who was injured in the blast. The girl stressed that "she was determined to live."

Wafaa Sleiman said that "the wounded persons are an example for the Lebanese people's determination to overcome difficulties and travesties."

An explosion ripped through a crowded neighborhood in Ashrafieh last Friday, targeting and killing ISF Information Branch Chief General Wissam Hassan along with many others. For more on this story, click here.
