Berri: Lebanon is not a remote island
Speaker Nabih Berri said that the region is witnessing troubling and disturbing developments, adding that Lebanon is not a “remote island” on the contrary it is greatly affected by the region’s convulsions.

Following his meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Berri called for following up on the case of the disappearance of Imam Musa Sadr.

Responding to Berri’s request, Ahmadinejad highlighted that Iran attaches great importance to the issue of Musa Sadr, adding that plenty of contacts were made with the Foreign Ministry and the Head of Libya’s National Transitional Council Mustafa Abdul Jalil.

On the other hand, Ahmadinejad stressed that the Islamic Republic will always stand ready to lend its support to Lebanon.

Ahmadinejad addressed Berri saying: “The achievement and victories of the Lebanese resistance that you formed brings us great hope.”
