Wounded man in al-Tleil explosion returns from Turkey

The wounded Nader Sharif Darwish, who had suffered severe burns in the al-Tleil explosion in Akkar, arrived on Thursday at the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport from Turkey.

He was received at the airport by the General Secretary of the High Relief Commission, Major General Mohammed Khair.

Khair thanked "the Turkish Government and the Turkish Ambassador, in addition to the Lebanese Ambassador to Turkey, for their efforts and for responding to the efforts of the High Relief Commission to transfer the wounded for treatment to Turkey and back."

"We are no strangers to such efforts from the Turkish State who always showed constant support for Lebanon and the Lebanese," he added.

Sharif Darwish had been transferred to Turkey for treatment on a humanitarian initiative from the Turkish state and with the efforts of Lebanon’s Ambassador to Turkey Ghassan al-Moallem, the High Relief Commission and the Ministry of Public Health.
