Baroud to LBCI: Expats’ voting in elections is a constitutional right
Former Interior Minister Ziad Baroud affirmed on Sunday during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI that “expatriates’ voting in the elections is a constitutional right as they should not be deprived of it.”

Baroud also regretted “the tendency to try to amend electoral law two months before the due date,” saying that this happens every time, as it may be an opportunity for the authority to disrupt upcoming parliamentary elections, and hoping that “amendments will not harm the elections.”

He also mentioned that we haven't yet entered the danger zone in terms of the legal deadlines that precede the elections, and we expect the Constitutional Council to carry out its task and function responsibly.

Baroud concluded by saying that the suspension of parliamentary elections would negatively affect Lebanon's image as well as the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
