Rai: Isn't it shameful that cabinet session becomes an Arab and international demand?-[PHOTOS]
Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Rai hoped on Sunday that “officials will return to their humanity, in order to save Lebanon and its people as well as to stop the approach of political revenge, personal hatred and absolute disregard for citizens.”

During his Sunday’s sermon, Rai stressed that “it is shameful that the cabinet session becomes an Arab and international demand while it is a Lebanese constitutional duty that binds the government,” noting that “it is a fundamental for building the state's relations with the world, which is called to recognize the uniqueness of Lebanon.”

He also pointed out that “with no cabinet sessions, the economy in all its sectors will be disrupted, as well as the financial movement,” adding that “as a result, the people will become more and more impoverished.”

“It seems as if the goal was to strike the work of the judiciary as a whole and turn society into a jungle of mobile crime without accountability,” Rai highlighted.

He then called for "the continuation of judicial investigation, specifically Beirut Port blast investigations.”
