MTV loses court case against LBCI

Beirut's Publications Court headed by Judge Roukoz Rizk issued its verdict in the personal claim raised by Attorney Naoum Farah against MTV, its director, and Journalist Walid Abboud.

The claim was raised on the backdrop of what was stated in Bimawdou'iya TV show (بموضوعية) on the 25th of October 2012.

On the stated date, Abboud claimed that he called Lawyer Farah various times to participate in the show alongside MP George Adwan following the issuance of the indictment in the lawsuit raised by the Lebanese Forces against LBCI and its CEO Sheik Pierre el-Daher.

During the show, Abboud added that Lawyer Naoum Farah refused to respond to their calls.

The Court condemned Mr. Walid Abboud and the channel's director for publishing false information and asked them to pay an amount of LBP 16 Million in compensation for Lawyer Naoum Farah. The court also asked them to broadcast a summary of the verdict in an episode of Bimawdou'iya.
