Introduction to the evening news 29-11-2012

The Syrian war has entered a phase of new developments:                 

- The Internet service was cut off in the country for the first time since the beginning of the war.               

- Clashes erupted between the regime forces and the opposition along the way leading to the airport, driving Egypt and the United Arab Emirates to cancel their flights to Damascus airport. It was later reported that regime forces launched a wide campaign on many regions located on the airport road.               

- Reports stated that the rebels seized SAM7 missiles from the bases of which they took control.                          

These accelerated developments in Syria came without overshadowing the events in Egypt, where votes on the final draft of the new Constitution opened. The final draft includes that "The principles of Islamic sharia are the main source of legislation," an article that was included in the previous Constitution.                      

On the Lebanese scene, movements are back to the streets, as after the movement staged by the Syndicate Coordination Committee for two days, al-Meqdad clan took to the streets, raising many question marks regarding the timing of their protest.    
      
However, the most prominent political position was that of the Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt who urged the Druze population in Syria to join the Syrian rebels.

Before going into the details of the bulletin, it is noteworthy that Dr. Mona Kanj was released on the airport road without paying any ransom.
