Jumblatt: Fixing Lebanon's relations with GCC countries is major priority

Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt reiterated on Monday Lebanon's "firm Arab affiliation," stressing that Lebanon's Arab relations are the guarantee of its identity, survival, and political and economic progress.

Jumblatt’s comments were made to al-Anbaa whereby he stressed that "fixing Lebanon's relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries is a major priority.”

“We must deploy all possible efforts to bring Lebanon back to the Arab fold," he added.

Jumblatt urged the Lebanese government to make every effort to reform these ties and to open the door to positive and fraternal discussions with Gulf Cooperation Council countries, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia “in order to remove all impurities that prevent the return of these ties as they were in the past.”
