Aoude: Our country needs someone who believes in it and works for it

Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Bishop of Beirut Elias Aoude said on Sunday that some Lebanese are convinced that nothing will change with the upcoming elections.

“To those I say that they have to ty, for he who does not sow does not reap the fruits, and he who does not work does not reap any result,” Aoude said during his Sunday sermon.

“Our country needs someone who believes in it and works for it,” he added.

Bishop Aoude on the other hand said that Lebanon needs a radical solution that stops the collapse, instills hope in people’s hearts, limits the waves of emigration, restores the citizen's dignity and rights, puts an end to unemployment, poverty, hunger and destitution, reunites society under a strong and just state, unify the people, and guarantees fortified borders and preserved sovereignty.
