Fire engulfs forest in Kefraya

A fire raged in the forests of Kefraya in El Koura district on Friday afternoon, destroying 4,000 m2 of wooded land filled with 7,000 olive, fig, fir and pine trees.

The civil defense, members from the municipality and the residents worked side by side to extinguish the fire that spread quickly due to high winds.

The head of the municipal council in Kefraya urged the concerned authorities to launch an investigation to find the cause of the wildfire and to punish the perpetrators.
