Marouni to LBCI: Berri’s position is improving

In a phone call with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, Kataeb MP Elie Marouni stressed on Friday that both him and his political party are trying to find a moderate solution to reach a decision concerning the electoral law without suspending March 14’s boycott to the cabinet.

Marouni stressed that several deputies in the parliamentary committee commissioned to discuss the electoral law proposals are targets of assassination plots and therefore cannot move freely.

He then stated that Speaker Nabih Berri’s latest positions concerning the change of cabinet are improving, emphasizing that Berri is more or less convinced of March 14’s point of view in this regard.

According to Marouni, PM Najib Mikati is not insisting on remaining in his position.
