Fayyad calls on Arab and Intl community to redouble efforts to help safe return of Syrians

Caretaker Minister of Energy Walid Fayyad called on the Arab and International community to redouble efforts to facilitate the safe return of Syrians from Lebanon to Syria, emphasizing that this will contribute significantly to restoring the balance of water security in Lebanon and a number of host countries.

Fayyad stated that Lebanon is currently experiencing the worst financial crisis in its history, which, in addition to the disguised siege imposed on it, has resulted in the suspension of its infrastructure, not because of the wars this time, but because of the collapse of the national currency and vital institutions at a time when the International community is refusing to extend a helping hand to the country and has exerted pressure not to return the displaced Syrians.
