Sleiman: Independence of judiciary is key to implementing justice

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman met on Wednesday with the Head of the Higher Judicial Council Judge Jean Fahed and Judge Alice Chabtini.

During the meeting, the President stressed on the importance of the judicial authority's independence and added that it is necessary not to interfere in its work so "it can remain the reference that grants citizens their rights."


The President also met with the Army Commander General Jean Kahwaji who briefed him on the general security situation in the country and in the North specifically.

General Kahwaji informed President Sleiman on the security measures that will be taken throughout the holidays in order to maintain the country's stability.
