Wahhab fears Syria’s “Afghanization”

The Arab Tawhid Party leader former Minister Wiam Wahhab expressed his fears related to the “Afghanization” of Syria on Monday, stating that “such a scenario would prove too expensive for the world to pay. “

Following a meeting held with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin, Wahhab warned all those placing bets on the results of the Syrian crisis saying that international consensus remains in place "until further notice". As for parties’ that are depending on importing the violence into Lebanon, Wahhab called them “delusional”.

Wahhab underscored Russia’s unchanged stance in regards to the developments inside Syria, adding that Moscow is capable of finding an exit strategy within an international consensus.
