Gemayel to Nharkom Saiid: Egypt should pave the way for a new Arab regime
Kataeb party Leader MP Amine Gemayel described on Monday the clashes that erupted in Egypt as “alarming and sad” both at the domestic and Arab level.

Gemayel told Nharkom Saiid TV show that he expects that “Egypt, which has always been a pioneer in reform, will pave the way for a new Arab regime that ensures justice and equality and embraces all the components of the country.”

“We are concerned by the Christian situation in Syria; however, these concerns might be greater when it comes to another Arab state,” Gemayel said, adding that what ensures Christians is a fair regime instead of replacing a dictatorial regime with a similar one.

Christians protesting an attack on a church were chased down by military police vehicles during violent overnight clashes on Sunday leaving at least 24 people dead in Cairo.
