Hochstein from Baabda: There are no clauses in demarcation agreement that would delay Lebanon's exploration of energy
US mediator Amos Hochstein declared on Thursday that "we are witnessing a historic day after reaching an agreement that would provide stability on both sides of the border."
In a statement from the Baabda Presidential Palace after his meeting with President Michel Aoun, Hochstein affirmed that "signing the demarcation of maritime border agreement between Lebanon and Israel would bring stability in the region, and this agreement would constitute a turning point for the Lebanese economy."
Answering a question, the US mediator stressed that “there are no clauses in the demarcation agreement that would delay Lebanon’s exploration for energy,” pointing out that “the most important thing in the agreement is that it is in the service of both sides and it is not in the interest of the two countries to violate it, and it will not be in the advantage of any party to violate the agreement."
