Abou Faour: Some are exploiting the file of Syrian refugees for electoral purposes

Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour said during a phone call with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV Show that the cabinet will continue to work according to the plan set to help the Syrian refugees in Lebanon, stressing that the cabinet’s position is still the same and that it will work on sheltering and protecting the Syrian displaced people.

Abou Faour added "there are no accurate figures about the numbers of the refugees since the cabinet postponed dealing with this issue by saying that the Syrian crisis will soon end."

The minister also revealed that he has suggested a number of security, political and economic procedures to limit the repercussions of the displacement, calling for isolating the file of the Syrian refugees from politics.

“There are some parties who are exploiting this issue for electoral purposes”, Abou Faour stated.
