Chehayeb criticizes Jreisati over strict measures concerning Syrian workers

MP Akram Chehayeb said on Wednesday that some political parties who support the regime in Syria are archiving information about Syrian workers with the help of affiliated municipalities to collect security and political information and refer them to Syrian security apparatuses.

Chehayeb added that the Minister of Labor Salim Jreisati has issued a decision in which he asks to attach to the work permits of Syrian nationals, a certificate signed by the Syrian Embassy in Lebanon that confirms the validity of the workers' personal documentations.

In response, Jreisati issued a statement in which he mentioned a request from the Ministry of Defense that demands accuracy of information and the intensification of intelligence and monitoring efforts concerning the Syrian refugees and their place of residence to prevent any exploitation of their humanitarian situation to conduct suspicious acts.
