REPORT: Lebanon scans damage in storm aftermath

The fierce storm that hit Lebanon during the past few days has finally receded with the Lebanese finally able to determine its damage. For the second consecutive day, the snow bulldozers worked on reopening blocked roads, especially in the region of Bekaa where the storm caused the isolation of towns for several days.

In Chouf, plantations were severely damaged and the agricultural lands flooded. In Sidon, the Awali river overflowed, causing damage to nearby lands.

In this context, the Ministry of Interior and the Civil Defense General Directorate issued a statement and announced that Civil Defense members continue to conduct rescue operations and are still working on opening blocked roads across Lebanon.

The statement also called on Lebanese citizens not to take mountainous roads and urged them to dial 125 in case of emergency.
