Nahas to LBC: Cabinet decision is incomplete

Economy Minister Nicolas Nahas told Nharkom Said TV show that the decision taken by the cabinet Tuesday is incomplete since it will not please everyone.

“Given the circumstances, such a decision was inevitable”, Nahas said.

Nahas said that the most important thing is for the economy not to be negatively impacted by the wage raise, stressing that the relations between workers and employers must abide by free market principles.

“The government should not interfere in the affairs of a free market except for setting the minimum wage which guarantees social security for all workers”, Nahas added.
