Jumblatt will change his point of view

Al-Akhbar daily said that the Head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt is complaining that the leaders and politicians, whether friends or foes, cannot understand either the scale of the regional events or his ever-changing stances.

The daily added that the members of the party were informed of the decision to move the organizational gathering on October 30th from the Beau Rivage hotel to the Social Mission Foundation in Aley. According to the daily, all signs point to the fact that

Jumblatt will change his political point of view and will start working accordingly as of next month.

The newspaper added that during meetings with his advisors, Jumblatt is calling for abandoning the “Salafist scarecrow” theory, saying: “If the Druze or the Maronites resist the Arab movement, they will become an extinct race. If they stay impartial to the Syrian events, they will have saved themselves.” 

“When a conflict in the region breaks out, as a leader of a minority group, I will not ally with other minorities. The smart thing to do would be to bandwagon with the strongest majority capable of protecting them,” Jumblatt said.    

According to the well-informed sources, MP Jumblatt said that the gun was pulled away from his head when the Syrian regime began to crumble.
