Culture Minister Al Mourtada acknowledges Qatar's role in mediating national dialogue

Lebanon's Culture Minister, Judge Mohammad Wissam Al Mourtada, expressed hope that Qatar's role, which has begun in mediating dialogue between Lebanese factions, will yield positive results soon. 

During his representation of Lebanon at the Conference of Culture Ministers in the Islamic World held in Doha, he emphasized the importance of Arab support for Lebanon and the need for cooperation in the face of various crises.

He stated, "We count on the Arab embrace of our country, which, in addition to its political crisis, faces other challenges such as Israeli aggression, economic and living crises, and the burdens resulting from the Syrian displacement and Palestinian refugee issues."

Minister Al Mourtada highlighted Qatar's ongoing support for Lebanon, saying, "The State of Qatar has always been a proactive initiator towards Lebanon on more than one occasion, and the Lebanese government and people appreciate their contributions."

He quoted Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, saying, "Qatar, as a state and an Emir, was the first to visit Lebanon after the July 2006 aggression, witnessed Israeli destruction and oppression, provided relief to villages and cities in Lebanon, rebuilt and supported the resistance, and extended help to all Lebanese without discrimination. Then, it proposed the Doha Agreement in 2008, which resolved one of our most complicated political crises at the time."

He hoped that Qatar's current mediation efforts in Lebanese dialogue would lead to positive outcomes, stating, "Today, as in the past, we rely on Qatar's role, which has begun mediating dialogue among Lebanese factions, hoping for a positive outcome soon."
