From the picturesque North to the captivating South, Lebanon stands as a diverse canvas, showcasing an array of natural wonders. Its landscapes span from majestic mountains to lush flora and fauna, offering a captivating tapestry of sceneries that will never cease to amaze.

Whether it's the tranquil hours of sunset or the vibrant sunrise, Lebanon's unique natural sites ensure that boredom remains a distant notion.

As we commemorate World Tourism Day 2023, let's embark on a journey through this breathtaking nation and uncover five indispensable destinations where you can bask in the freshness of the air and revel in spectacular vistas while immersing yourself in the embrace of nature.

Akkoura

With its name coming from the Syriac origin of "Ain Qouro," meaning "the cold spring," Akkoura is a unique village in Jbeil.

The village overlooks terraces of apples and valleys on a plateau at the foot of a mountain.

To add to its splendor, circular ponds feature its unique landscape. While visiting it, do not forget to pass by the Rweiss grotto with myriad galleries and its rock-cut church, a remains of a Roman temple.

Ammiq

Found in the Bekaa region, Ammiq is a tranquil village with a splendid view over the fertile Bekaa Valley.

This unique landscape is home to fertile lands and one of Lebanon's last significant wetlands.

These swamps are on one of the most significant bird migration routes in the world, where more than 250 species of bird were recorded. The Ammiq Wetland is also a popular recreation area, which is part of the Shouf Biosphere Reserve.

Roaming around it, you will see buffalos, ducks, and exceptional fauna and flora while enjoying a nice day outdoors!

Jezzine

This town-like village in the South is famous for its nature, breathtaking mountain views, pine forests, and waterfalls.

Known for its cutlery craftsmanship, the Jezzine waterfall is among the highest in the world.

The village of Jezzine is also considered a delightful summer destination with its impressive architectural heritage and fun atmosphere.

Baakline

Located in the Chouf region, Baakline is situated on a hill overlooking Deir el-Qamar.

Baakline lures visitors with its cultural, religious, and nature tourism, along with its trees, rivers, and valleys.

Its heritage aspects are embedded in ancient history, as decades ago, it was the capital of the Maan emirs.

Taanayel

Taanayel, located a few kilometers from Zahle, is a beautiful getaway for nature lovers with enchanting views, farms, breathtaking sceneries, and vineyards.

It is a tranquil and captivating destination where natural beauty, agriculture, and eco-tourism converge to provide a memorable and enriching experience for all exploring its charms.

Whether you're an enthusiast of natural marvels and eco-tourism or simply seeking a serene escape to rejuvenate and unwind, Taanayel beckons year-round.
