Majdalani: Hariri's electoral initiative is pillar of coexistence and electoral fairness

Future bloc MP Atef Majdalani considered that Former PM Saad Hariri's electoral initiative is “a pillar of coexistence and electoral fairness.”     

“The formation of a Senate will guarantee coexistence in the country and Hariri’s initiative will pave the way towards common grounds,” he said, following his bloc’s weekly meeting.  

Majdalani added that the Future bloc’s initiative is “realistic and practical” and ensures that parliamentary elections will be held on time.    

In reference to March8, Majdalani said, "the other political team’s refusal of our initiative exemplifies their unending support to Hezbollah and the Syrian regime,” he said.    

On the latest incident that rocked Akkar, Majdalani said that the LAF is the official institution that safeguards the rights of the Lebanese people, stressing that attacks against the army are unacceptable.    

Majdalani said that Arsal citizens are not exempt from the rule of law, adding “the incident shows that the errors occurred as a result of slander campaigns.”     

Majdalani demanded an investigation to reveal the circumstances behind the murder of "victim" Khaled Hmeid.      

Separately, Majdalani considered that calling for the lifting of MP Boutros Harb's political immunity is another form of an assassination.
