Assir: "Secret unit" sent to Arsal was on a mission to assassinate Khaled Hamid

Imam Bilal Ben Rabah Mosque Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir denounced on Tuesday the attack on army members. However, he refered to the Arsal ambush by rejecting what he called "a violation of people's dignity", alluding that the LAF's patrol in the border town was an offense to the residents.

Assir added that the "Lebanese state neglected the poor people who live in Arsal", stressing that the "secret unit" that was sent to the town was on a mission "to assassinate citizen Khaled Hamid."

The Sheikh then stated that "what is important at the moment is revealing who was behind the killing of Hamid."
