MP Samy Gemayel holds diplomatic discussions with US Ambassador

The leader of the Kataeb Party, MP Samy Gemayel, met with the US Ambassador Lisa Johnson in an introductory visit, during which the situation in the region and its implications on Lebanon were extensively discussed.

MP Salim Sayegh, member of the Kataeb Political Bureau Zeina Hobeika, and the party's foreign affairs advisor Michel Abou Abdallah were attending the meeting.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on Lebanon's importance, the Quintet Committee's role, and its unified stance regarding the urgency of electing a president for the republic as soon as possible and facilitating the process by all parties involved.

The Kataeb Party leader stressed the need to protect Lebanon, keep it neutral, and prevent its involvement in the ongoing regional conflict while pressing toward implementing UN Resolution 1701, restoring Lebanon's sovereignty institutions, and separating the presidency from conflict-related issues.

Additionally, Gemayel emphasized the importance of the support provided by the United States to the Lebanese Army and its pivotal role in protecting the borders and defending Lebanon and its people.
