Mikati prioritizes security: General Awde named Chief of Staff in response to current conditions

Prime Minister Mikati announced on Thursday the appointment of General Hassan Awde as the new Chief of Staff. Mikati emphasized that this decision is crucial given the nation's current security conditions.

Mikati also disclosed that the government has signed the 2024 budget for publication in the official gazette. During discussions, there was a focus on enhancing productivity allowances for employees, reflecting a commitment to bolstering the workforce amid economic challenges.

Furthermore, he revealed plans to convene a cabinet meeting next Saturday. This gathering will address issues pertinent to the nation's stability and governance.
