Rai: Lebanese parties should alter their names and ways

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai urged all Lebanese political parties to change their names and to start over their political path.

During a meeting in the parish of Saint Anthony the Great in Massachusetts, Rai recalled the words of late Patriarch Elias Al Howayek who said that “I belong to the Lebanese confession.

“Sectarian remarks are dangerous and I would like to remind the Maronites that Lebanon is their cause and history”, Rai said.

Patriarch Rai also met with a delegation from the Lebanese Forces and the Kataeb party. The delegation endorsed Rai’s remarks, saying: “Rai is opened to everyone and he is working not only to unify the Christians but all the Lebanese.”

Rai’s tour of the United States will continue with his upcoming visit to New York.
