Beirut goes all out to save a cat

This cat probably got more attention than the average Lebanese could dream of…

Downtown Beirut was on high alert on Thursday to save a cat that climbed far too high into a tree, catching the attention of passersby and the residents of the nearby buildings.

While cranes and ladders were brought to the scene near the Roman baths to help bring the cat down from the heights of the tree, the cat went on jumping from one tree to another without batting an eye at those trying to rescue it; until, suddenly, it fell onto a staircase and took off running leaving a bewildered crowd of people behind wondering why they went through all this effort to bring the feline down in the first place.
